Peter Basil Murdock-Saint is an experienced pianist and teacher based in the New Forest. His piano studio is now accepting applications from students of all levels and abilities.
Born in 1980, Peter embarked upon piano tuition aged 8. Three years later he took up the church organ too and undertook organ scholarships at Solihull School for Boys and at Her Majesty’s Chapel Royal, Hampton Court Palace.
Prior to moving to the New Forest, Peter established a busy career having taught for Manchester High School for Girls and Ashton-under-Lyne Sixth Form College. He is also available as an instrumental accompanist for Trinity and ABRSM exams.
Peter studied at Birmingham Conservatoire Junior School and graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music after studying with Margaret Fingerhut.
Peter champions unjustly neglected repertoire, particularly Dukas and Chaminade for whom he gave a BBC Radio 3 interview. Peter has broadcast on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio Manchester and Gaydio taking part in the Manchester Pride Chamber Concert Series and recorded a disc of piano byways that received an acclaimed 4.5 star review. He has performed sold-out recitals at London venues such as the 1901 Arts Club in Waterloo.
Peter adjudicates the competitive piano classes of the 5th annual Dulwich Music Festival in South London in June. He also sits on a panel of three adjudicators for the Junior Piano Competition in Waterloo in October 2016.
Peter is a registered member of the European Piano Teachers’ Association and has full public liability insurance and DBS clearance.
